Job summary

Galliford Try is seeking a Pre Construction Design Lead for the Oak Facades unit in Leicester. You will steer the design process from bid through handover, ensuring buildability, compliance, and commercially viable solutions.

You will lead multidisciplinary teams, promote BIM practices, and maintain strong client interfaces, delivering value while managing risks and opportunities throughout pre-construction.

Qualifications

• Lead design coordination across pre-construction and tender stages.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Knowledge of Building Regulations, CDM Regulations and related standards.
• Commercial awareness, procurement and cost planning understanding.
• Experience with BIM, Revit and data environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead design process during pre-construction and tender stages.
• Coordinate architects, engineers and specialist subcontractors.
• Develop and manage design programmes aligned with bid requirements.
• Support bid submissions, RFIs, and value engineering.
• Act as primary interface with clients and consultants pre-construction.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
• Promote BIM and digital construction practices.
• Manage design risks and opportunities.
