Job summary

Future Build Recruitment is seeking an experienced Pre-Construction Design Manager for architectural glazing and façade projects in the United Kingdom. The role focuses on taking projects from tender and handover through the design process, ensuring designs are practical, coordinated and suitable for manufacture and installation.

You’ll work closely with Estimators, Contracts Managers, clients and external design teams to manage the progression of design packages through to construction status

Qualifications

• Experience in architectural glazing and façade design.
• Experience coordinating design through pre-construction.
• Ability to manage design information and coordinate changes.
• Experience leading design meetings with clients and external teams.

Responsibilities

• Attend project handovers with Estimating and Contracts teams to understand requirements and scope.
• Coordinate with subcontract design teams and establish design programmes and timeframes.
• Manage progression of design between client and external designers.
• Manage client design portals (e.g., Procore) and communicate changes to teams.
• Establish and maintain drawing protocols, numbers, and status.
• Review technical submissions against original tender design.
• Identify design variances and liaise with Commercial Manager on variances.
• Attend design meetings with clients and drive designs to construction status.
• Review manufacturing drawings before release to ensure information is complete and coordinated.
• Work with internal teams to ensure designs are buildable and manufacturable.
