Job summary

Nuffield Health Highgate Hospital is seeking a Bank Staff Nurse for the Pre-Assessment team. You will be registered with the NMC and bring post-registration experience to assess patients before surgery, ensuring high standards of care and patient comfort in a hospital setting.

As part of the Pre-Assessment team, you will collaborate with clinicians, support patients and families, and contribute to a smooth patient journey while maintaining excellent clinical governance and patient safety.

Qualifications

• Registered with the NMC and eligible to practice in the UK.
• Post-registration nursing experience preferred.
• Bank staff nurse availability and reliability are essential.

Responsibilities

• Act as first point of contact for pre-assessment evaluations.
• Demonstrate comprehensive assessment skills for pre-surgery patients.
• Support patients and families with information and reassurance.

As a Bank Staff Nurse in Pre-Assessment at our Highgate Hospital, it’s vital that you’re a nurse registered with the NMC and you will bring post-registration experience and be passionate about patient care.

As a Bank Pre-Assessment Staff Nurse, you will:

• As the first point of contact you will work with leading talent and professionals to make the right assessments for patients prior to their surgery
• Demonstrate a broad knowledge base and assessment skills to ensure patient care
• Fully understand and support the needs of each patient and their family
• Offer comfort and reassurance, providing the highest standards of care
• Build your experience across new practices, equipment and facilities
• Work with practitioners in other areas, understanding that continuity in patient care is key

Overtime

For clinical roles grade 9 and below, the overtime is at a standard rate of pay. For unsocial hours, you’ll be paid an additional enhancement to your salary at the following rates: Nights Hours worked between 7pm and 7am on any day of the week, 30% of basic hourly rate. Weekends Hours worked between 7am and 7pm on a Saturday or Sunday, 20% of basic hourly rate. Bank Holidays Hours worked between midnight and midnight of a bank holiday, 100% of basic hourly rate.
