Job summary

The Drayton Surgery is seeking a dynamic Practice Nurse to join our friendly team. You will deliver high-quality nursing care, manage chronic diseases, and provide treatment room services across two sites in Portsmouth.

Our multidisciplinary team includes GPs, ANPs, HCAs, and Phlebotomists, with a strong focus on patient care and ongoing professional development. We offer an NHS Pension Scheme where eligible, opportunities for training, and a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with the NMC and current registration.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in a nursing team.
• Experience in GP practice settings preferred.
• Qualified in giving childhood and routine vaccinations.
• Qualified in Cervical Smear taking and leg ulcer assessment.
• Experience with chronic disease management (asthma, COPD, diabetes).

Responsibilities

• Deliver high standards of nursing care as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Provide treatment room services including wound care and minor procedures.
• Undertake chronic disease management (asthma, COPD, diabetes).
• Administer routine childhood, adult, and travel immunisations.
• Carry out cervical screening (smears).
• Maintain clinical rooms and comply with cold-chain processes.
