Job summary

Fir Tree Medical Centre is recruiting a full-time practice nurse to work across one of its GP surgeries. The role focuses on nursing care for patients and supporting GPs and the wider primary care team, with cross-site working across the group.

You will undertake chronic disease reviews, immunisations, cervical screening, and routine clinical tasks in line with protocols, and ensure accurate record-keeping and compliance with NMC guidelines.

Qualifications

• Membership of the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) is required.
• NMC registration and a current professional development plan are essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care and support GPs and the primary care team.
• Carry out routine clinical tasks and refer to senior staff as needed.
• Undertake chronic disease reviews and conduct immunisations, cervical screening, and injections as directed.
• Perform venepuncture, cervical cytology, peak flow and blood pressure measurements.
• Order basic pathology tests and provide brief interventions and onward referrals.
• Run well person clinics and deliver health promotion and lifestyle advice.
