Job summary

Greenmoss Medical Centre in Scholar Green is seeking a practice nurse to join its primary care team. You will manage a caseload of patients, cover chronic disease reviews, cervical screening, immunisations and wound care, working under the supervision of GPs.

Requirements: current NMC registration, at least two years in primary care, and ability to work with an integrated multi-disciplinary team. EMIS Web experience is a nice-to-have.

Qualifications

• Qualified nurse with current NMC registration.
• Minimum two years in a primary care environment.
• Experience in prescribing and immunisations.
• Experience in cervical screening, travel advice and health promotion.
• Experience with learning disability and SMI reviews.

Responsibilities

• Routine patient care tasks as directed by senior nursing staff and GPs.
• Managing patient caseloads and keeping accurate records.
• Chronic disease management for hypertension, IHD, diabetes, asthma and COPD.
• Cervical screening (cytology) and immunisations.
• Travel clinic assessments and vaccinations.
• Wound care, suture and clip removal.
• Urinalysis, ECGs and pathology tests.
• Chaperoning patients during examinations by other clinicians.
• Checking and reordering emergency drugs and leading infection control.
