Job summary

Tooting South Medical Centre is seeking an experienced Practice Nurse to join us for 3 days per week (3 sessions). Hours and salary negotiable depending on experience. The centre values professional development and team collaboration in a high-quality, patient-focused environment.

The role involves immunisations, chronic disease clinics, health assessments, and nursing education within a supportive GP practice team of 4 partners and multiple clinicians.

Qualifications

• Registered General Nurse (RGN) with active NMC registration
• GP practice experience is mandatory
• Competency in EMIS Web
• Current membership of a professional nursing organisation
• Committed to ongoing professional development

Responsibilities

• Provide general nursing care including: Childhood and travel immunisations, wound care and ear syringing
• ECG and spirometry and health assessments
• Manage chronic disease clinics (Asthma, COPD, Diabetes, CHD, Hypertension)
• Coordinate repeat prescriptions and vaccine stock
• Mentor and train Healthcare Assistants and participate in forums and audits

Practice Nurse (5 Sessions/3 Days per Week) Location: Tooting South Medical Centre Patient List Size: 10,000 Clinical System: EMIS Web Contract Type: PMS Salary: From £32,000 ; depending on experience Reporting to: Managing Partner Accountable to: GP Partners

We are a high-achieving, well-organised PMS training practice with a strong QOF record and a committed clinical team. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic, experienced Practice Nurse to join us for 3 sessions across 3 days per week. Hours and salary are negotiable depending on experience. Key Requirements:

• Registered General Nurse (RGN) with active NMC registration

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide general nursing care including: Childhood and travel immunisations Wound care and ear syringing ECG and spirometry
• Conduct health assessments and screening: New patient checks 75+ assessments Cervical cytology
• Manage chronic disease clinics including: Asthma, COPD, Diabetes, CHD, and Hypertension
• Perform regular audits Promote and support health education and wellbeing clinics
• Collaborate with wider healthcare team including: GPs, community services, district nurses, and allied professionals
• Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure safe management of the treatment room
• Coordinate repeat prescriptions and vaccine stock
• Assist in mentoring and training of Healthcare Assistants
• Participate in practice meetings, audits, training, and nursing forums

The postholder is expected to maintain up-to-date CPD and mandatory training Responsibilities may evolve with the needs of the practice A willingness to support the wider team and flexible approach is essential Please note: A minimum of 2 years’ GP practice nurse experience is mandatory.
