Job summary

BroadBean is seeking an experienced Practice Nurse for a permanent role in Vauxhall, South West London. You will join a supportive NHS GP practice, running long-term conditions clinics and immunisation sessions from day one.

The position offers 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with extended hours built into the week and a starting salary of £54,000 per annum plus NHS Pension. Applicants must be fully qualified with an active NMC PIN and UK practice experience.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (Adult) with a current NMC PIN.
• Experience as a Practice Nurse in UK general practice.
• Confident running long-term condition reviews.
• Cervical screening trained and up to date.
• Immunisation and vaccination training including childhood immunisations.
• Gives injections, wound care and routine clinics.
• Familiar with GP systems (EMIS Web desirable).

Responsibilities

• Run nurse-led reviews for diabetes, asthma, COPD, hypertension and cardiovascular disease.
• Carry out cervical screening and recalls for NHS programme.
• Deliver childhood and adult vaccines and travel health advice.
• Lead seasonal flu and COVID-19 vaccination campaigns and manage stock.
• Perform wound care, ear care, ECGs and phlebotomy.
• Maintain accurate EMIS Web records and participate in audits.

Practice Nurse (Full Time - 37.5 Hours) Vauxhall, South West London Starting at £54,000 per annum Permanent Are you an experienced Practice Nurse looking for a permanent role in a supportive, well‑established GP practice? Our client, a busy and well‑established NHS GP Practice in Vauxhall, is looking for a fully qualified Practice Nurse to join their supportive nursing team. You'll run long‑term condition, cervical screening and immunisation clinics, working independently across all core clinics from day one.

What's on offer:

• Starting salary of £54,000 per annum
• 6 weeks' annual leave plus bank holidays

• Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week - extended hours are built into the working week, not on top of it
• Choice of early or evening extended-hours pattern (1.5 hours per week)
• Saturdays only once or twice a year during flu season, paid as overtime or time off in lieu
• A permanent role in an established nursing team
• Excellent transport links (Vauxhall Underground, rail and bus station)

Please note: the 1.5 extended hours each week can be covered by early starts at 7:30am (spread across two or three days), or one shorter early morning plus one evening session finishing at 7:00pm.

What you’ll need:

• Registered Nurse (Adult) with a current NMC PIN
• Previous experience as a Practice Nurse in UK general practice - this is essential
• Confident running long‑term condition reviews
• Cervical screening trained and up to date
• Immunisation and vaccination trained, including childhood immunisations
• Competent with a GP clinical system (EMIS Web desirable)
• Reliable, organised and a strong team player with high standards of care and dignity
• Diabetes and/or asthma/COPD diploma, travel health qualification, experience in a busy London practice

What you’ll be doing:

• Running nurse‑led reviews for diabetes, asthma, COPD, hypertension and cardiovascular disease in line with QOF and local targets
• Carrying out cervical screening in line with the NHS Cervical Screening Programme, tracking results and following up recalls
• Delivering childhood immunisations, adult vaccines and travel health advice
• Leading and supporting seasonal flu and COVID‑19 vaccination campaigns, and managing vaccine stock and the cold chain
• General treatment room work - wound care, ear care, ECGs, phlebotomy and injections
• Health checks, smoking cessation and lifestyle advice
• Keeping accurate records on EMIS Web and taking part in audits, practice meetings and CQC readiness
• Maintaining NMC registration and revalidation, and keeping training up to date
