Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a Locum Practice Nurse to work for a GP practice in Rugeley. This role is ideal for a nurse with strong assessment skills who can deliver chronic disease reviews and routine nursing clinics in a structured primary care environment.

You will contribute to high-quality patient care through clinical reviews, preventative health work and treatment room activity. The practice offers well-organised workflows and supportive nursing leadership.

Qualifications

• NMC-registered nurse with primary care experience.
• Up-to-date immunisation and cytology training desirable.
• Confident in chronic disease management and treatment room-work.
• Good patient communication and clinical reasoning.
• Familiarity with EMIS, SystmOne or Vision.
• Enhanced DBS.

Responsibilities

• Conducting chronic disease reviews for patients with asthma, COPD, diabetes or hypertension
• Performing wound care, dressings and treatment room duties
• Carrying out adult and children's immunisations (if trained)
• Undertaking smear tests (cytology-trained nurses)
• Completing NHS Health Checks and lifestyle assessments
• Managing results, recalls and routine follow-up tasks
• Documenting clearly in the clinical system
