Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a Locum Practice Nurse to join a GP practice in Burton-on-Trent. You will deliver chronic disease reviews and run treatment room procedures within a structured primary care setting.

You will contribute to high-quality patient care through clinical reviews, preventative health work and efficient clinic delivery. Regular or ad-hoc sessions are available with morning/afternoon slots and long-term bookings.

Qualifications

• NMC-registered nurse with primary care experience.
• Up-to-date immunisation or cytology training desirable.
• Confident in chronic disease management and treatment room-work.
• Familiar with EMIS, SystmOne or Vision.
• Enhanced DBS clearance desirable.

Responsibilities

• Conduct chronic disease reviews for asthma, COPD, diabetes or hypertension.
• Perform wound care, dressings and treatment room duties.
• Carry out adult and children's immunisations (if trained).
• Undertake smear tests (cytology-trained nurses).
• Complete NHS Health Checks and lifestyle assessments.
• Manage results, recalls and routine follow-up tasks.
• Document clearly in the clinical system.
