Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a Locum Practice Nurse to join a GP practice in Tunbridge Wells. The post offers flexible regular or ad-hoc sessions and long-term bookings, with opportunities for immunisations and chronic disease reviews in a structured primary care environment.

You will deliver clinical reviews, wound care, and routine nursing clinics, contribute to patient health through preventive work, and document clearly in the EMIS/SystmOne/Vision system under DBS checks.

Qualifications

• NMC-registered nurse with experience in primary care.
• Up-to-date immunisation and cytology training desirable.
• Confident in chronic disease management and treatment room-work.
• Good patient communication and clinical reasoning.
• Familiarity with EMIS, SystmOne or Vision.
• Enhanced DBS.

Responsibilities

• Conduct chronic disease reviews for patients with asthma, COPD, diabetes or hypertension.
• Performing wound care, dressings and treatment room duties.
• Carrying out adult and children’s immunisations (if trained).
• Undertaking smear tests (cytology-trained nurses).
• Completing NHS Health Checks and lifestyle assessments.
• Managing results, recalls and routine follow-up tasks.
• Documenting clearly in the clinical system.
