Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a Locum Practice Nurse for a GP practice in Borehamwood. You will perform chronic disease reviews, wound care, immunisations, and treatment room duties within a structured primary care setting.

You’ll contribute to high-quality patient care through clinical reviews, preventative health work, and routine clinic activity. A well-organised workflow, supportive nursing leadership, and clear daily clinic structure are provided.

Qualifications

• NMC-registered nurse with primary care experience.
• Immunisation and cytology training are desirable.
• Confident in chronic disease management and treatment room work.
• Good patient communication and clinical reasoning.

Responsibilities

• Conduct chronic disease reviews for asthma, COPD, diabetes or hypertension.
• Perform wound care, dressings and treatment room duties.
• Carry out adult and children's immunisations (if trained).
• Undertake smear tests (cytology-trained nurses).
• Complete NHS Health Checks and lifestyle assessments.
• Manage results, recalls and routine follow-up tasks.
• Document clearly in the clinical system.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements
