Job Title: Practice Nurse
Reports to: Clinical Lead/Senior Partner (Clinically), Practice Manager (Administratively)
Job Summary: The Practice Nurse will work as part of the primary healthcare team providing Personal Medical Services to the patients of Practice.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing chronic diseases such as asthma, COPD, and conducting peak flow readings and spirometry
- Assisting in and performing routine patient care tasks as directed by senior nursing staff and GPs
- Performing cytology, suture removal, ECGs, venipuncture, earsyringing, and immunizations
- Participating in travel clinics and assisting with patient examinations
- Requesting pathology tests like urine cultures and swabs
- Engaging in interests related to diabetes, coronary heart disease, CVD risk, and contraception
- Following clinical protocols and referring to senior staff as appropriate
- Maintaining and cleaning medical equipment and treatment rooms
- Ordering supplies and participating in administrative tasks
- Maintaining accurate records and reporting potential issues
- Attending practice meetings and occasionally undertaking home visits

Person Specification
Qualifications
- NMC Registered Nurse
- Non-Medical Prescribing Qualification
Experience
- At least one year post-qualification nursing experience
- IT literacy, experience with System One
- Chronic disease management and cytology experience
