We are looking for an experienced Practice Nurse to support our busy practice, working 25 hours per week. Salary is negotiable depending on experience.

Main duties of the job

To undertake all elements of practice nursing within our practices. The Practice Nurse will work as part of the primary healthcare team providing Personal Medical Services to the patients of Practice.

Job responsibilities

Job Title: Practice Nurse

Reports to: Clinical Lead/Senior Partner (Clinically), Practice Manager (Administratively)

Job Summary: The Practice Nurse will work as part of the primary healthcare team providing Personal Medical Services to the patients of Practice.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing chronic diseases such as asthma, COPD, and conducting peak flow readings and spirometry
  • Assisting in and performing routine patient care tasks as directed by senior nursing staff and GPs
  • Performing cytology, suture removal, ECGs, venipuncture, earsyringing, and immunizations
  • Participating in travel clinics and assisting with patient examinations
  • Requesting pathology tests like urine cultures and swabs
  • Engaging in interests related to diabetes, coronary heart disease, CVD risk, and contraception
  • Following clinical protocols and referring to senior staff as appropriate
  • Maintaining and cleaning medical equipment and treatment rooms
  • Ordering supplies and participating in administrative tasks
  • Maintaining accurate records and reporting potential issues
  • Attending practice meetings and occasionally undertaking home visits

Experience
