Job summary

My Local Accounting LTD, based in Leicester, seeks an experienced Senior Accountant / Practice Manager to own the firm’s accounts and tax compliance workflow. You will collaborate with the Firm Director, uphold high standards, and drive the practice as it grows.

This role suits someone who thrives on deadlines, accuracy, and taking responsibility for clients from start to finish, with equity investment potential for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• ACA/ACCA/CTA/AAT/ATT qualifications welcomed; strong practice experience is valued.
• Experience with IRIS, Xero, FreeAgent, QuickBooks and VT Transactions beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day compliance for a varied client portfolio.
• Prepare and review annual accounts for limited companies, sole traders and partnerships.
• Prepare and review corporation tax returns.
• Prepare personal tax returns.
• Prepare and review VAT returns.
• Manage bookkeeping and ensure records are up to date.
• Monitor filing deadlines and ensure on-time submissions.
• Review work by junior staff where appropriate.
• Deal with HMRC and Companies House queries.
• Manage client onboarding, engagement letters and AML requirements.
• Act as key contact for clients on accounting and tax matters.
