Job summary

Mitchison Road Surgery is seeking a dedicated Practice Manager for 37.5 hours per week to lead the base operations and strategic direction of the practice.

You will oversee administrative and clinical rota functions, coordinate with regional and clinical leadership, and drive initiatives to improve patient services and efficiency. The role requires strong management credentials and a track record in budget control and team development.

Qualifications

• Degree-level certification in relevant management or finance.
• Experience with people, appraisal, performance management, and employment law.
• Experience with budget management and income growth.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the practice both operationally and strategically, ensuring targets are met and budget delivery achieved.
• Line manage administrative staff and the clinical rota, ensuring smooth day-to-day operation with regional and clinical leadership support.
• Establish effective communication with staff and patients, including regular practice meetings and leadership of the patient participation group.
• Develop relationships with stakeholders to deliver high-quality, value-for-money patient services.
