Job summary

NHS Lanarkshire is seeking an Assistant Practitioner – Practice Education to support education and development activities for the HCSW workforce within Nursing, Midwifery and AHP services. You will enhance work-based learning experiences and contribute to future HCSW workforce development.

In this role you will support training needs, participate in inductions, assist in teaching sessions, and act as a learning link for Practice Development teams, ensuring high-quality care and robust learning

Qualifications

Formal qualification at HNC Level or equivalent in health/education/social care.
Awareness of health legislation relevant to the clinical area.
Knowledge of the clinical speciality/process and related techniques.

Responsibilities

Apply knowledge and skills in direct patient care under supervision of a registered NMAHP practitioner.
Deliver direct patient care with compassion following a clinical plan.
Obtain consent for interventions or investigations.
Monitor patient condition and escalate as needed.
Plan and deliver teaching sessions for NMAHP staff under supervision.
Act as HCSW learning and development link for Practice Development teams.
Support maintenance of communication networks and learning forums for HCSWs.
Assist in orientation and induction programmes for new HCSWs.
