Job description

Location: Based at our Stevenage office (SG2 8ET).

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 DOE.

Contract: Full time, permanent.

TaxAssist Accountants are the largest network of accountants, currently working from over 300 locations throughout the UK, who focus their accountancy skills specifically on small businesses and taxpayers needing a tax return in the UK. They specialise in providing accountancy services, tax returns, payroll, bookkeeping, tax savings and tax advice to small businesses.

We are currently looking for a Practice Accountant to join our Stevenage office. This is a permanent position, working full time (9.00am - 5pm, Monday - Friday).

Ideal Candidate Experience Requirements:

• Bookkeeping.
• VAT return preparation taking on MTD aspects.
• Limited company accounts preparation and CT600's.
• Sole trader, partnership, Rental accounts - Personal tax returns preparation.
• Capital Gains Tax Returns.
• Payroll.
• CIS.
• Company secretarial processes.
• Experience of Quickbooks, Xero, TaxCalc, BrightPay, Sage & Dext preferable.

Experience:

• Minimum 3 years' experience within an accountancy practice is essential.
• Part qualified ACCA or AAT or more substantial experience but without qualifications.
• Software - TaxCalc, QuickBooks, Xero, Dext, Sage, Microsoft Excel and payroll software.

Qualities:

• Good communicator with a proactive, enthusiastic and customer-focused approach.
• Ability to multi-task and manage allocated workload.
• Reliable, discrete and confidential with good attention to detail.
• Flexible, adaptable and a team player.
• A desire to progress with a can-do attitude.

Role And Schedule:

• Permanent position.
• Hours 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday to Friday.
