Job summary

Henley Chase in Glasgow is seeking a Quantity Surveyor with a PQS background to join an established team. You will contribute to cost planning, procurement and contract administration on a range of projects, ensuring commercial objectives are met.

The role requires strong numeracy, client liaison skills and the ability to manage multiple projects from feasibility through final accounts, within a consultancy or professional practice setting.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Quantity Surveyor in a PQS or cost consultancy.
• Strong knowledge of cost management and commercial processes.
• Experience in cost planning, estimating, procurement and contract administration.
• Understanding of construction contracts and tender procedures.
• Excellent numerical, analytical and communication skills.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline desirable.
• RICS membership or working towards chartership advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide quantity surveying and cost consultancy services across construction projects.
• Prepare cost plans, estimates and budget forecasts.
• Undertake measurement and preparation of bills of quantities.
• Manage tender documentation, procurement and tender analysis.
• Advise clients on project costs, commercial risks and value engineering opportunities.
• Monitor project expenditure and prepare regular cost reports.
• Administer construction contracts and manage variations.
• Assess interim valuations and payment applications.
• Support the preparation and agreement of final accounts.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, consultants and wider project teams.
• Ensure projects are delivered in line with agreed budgets and commercial objectives.
