Job summary

Henley Chase is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a busy civils and groundworks contractor in Glasgow. You will manage the commercial side of projects, from procurement through final accounts, with a strong focus on budgets and forecasts.

The ideal candidate has civils/groundworks experience, solid contract knowledge (NEC/JCT), and proven ability to handle valuations, variations and subcontractor accounts while maintaining strong client relationships.

Qualifications

• Experience managing valuations, variations, subcontractors and final accounts.
• Strong understanding of construction contracts and commercial processes.
• Excellent attention to detail and commercial awareness.

Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial aspects of civils and groundworks projects.
• Prepare and submit valuations, variations and payment applications.
• Manage subcontractor accounts, payments and applications.
• Monitor project costs, budgets and forecasts.
• Procure subcontractors and materials.
• Review and negotiate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
• Identify and manage variations and additional works.
• Prepare and agree final accounts.
• Monitor project performance against budget.
• Produce accurate commercial reports and cost forecasts.
• Liaise with project managers, site teams, clients and subcontractors.
• Ensure contractual and commercial obligations are maintained.
• Support the wider commercial team with tendering and pricing where required.
