Ted Recruitment is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor / Cost Manager to join their Glasgow head office. The role requires a UK PQS background and 4+ years post graduate experience, with an opportunity to support RICS APC pathways.

Projects range from residential to leisure facilities, industrial warehousing and offices up to £120m. Salary sits at £50,000–£65,000 per year with pension, discretionary bonus and hybrid working one day per week.

Qualifications

• Senior Quantity Surveyor with 4+ years post graduate experience in a UK PQS firm.
• Recognised UK qualification in Quantity Surveying (BSc or equivalent).
• Chartered status with the RICS or APC pursuit with employer support.
• Experience with JCT contracts; NEC knowledge beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Lead pre and post contract activities for diverse projects.
• Manage costs and commercial aspects on projects up to about £120m.
• Communicate effectively with clients, design teams and stakeholders at all levels.

THE ROLE

My client seeks a Senior Quantity Surveyor / Cost Manager to join them in Glasgow. This office is the Head Office and this role has arisen due to retirement.

They are seeking someone either at Senior level with four years + experience ideally gained working for a firm of PQS.

My client works on a good range of projects for residential, leisure facilities, industrial warehousing, offices, schools and more.

THE COMPANY

My client is an established firm of PQS with two offices currently.

They work on a good range of projects up to around £120m in value.

THE CANDIDATE

You will be a Senior Quantity Surveyor who is currently working for a UK firm of PQS.

My client would like someone who has at least four years or more post graduate experience doing pre and post contract work.

You will need to have a recognised UK qualification in Quantity Surveying i.e. BSc in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics or similar and have around 2 plus years experience working for a PQS firm either post graduation or during your Degree if you were doing your BSc on day release.

You may already be Chartered with the RICS or be keen to become chartered and my client will support this.

You should have used JCT contracts and any knowledge of NEC contracts would be useful.

You should have excellent communication skills, both written and spoken to deal with people at all levels.
