Job summary

Pertemps Northampton is seeking a Technician for the Safety Product Testing department in Kettering. The role involves routine PPE physical testing, operating test equipment, and preparing samples.

Training will be provided. Applicants should have GCSEs in Maths/English/Science and strong IT skills. The position offers 37.5 hours per week on a 10-12 month FTC with a salary up to £26,000.

Qualifications

• GCSE Level C minimum in Maths, English, Science.
• Good computer skills - Word, Excel, Microsoft Teams & Outlook.
• Motivated, especially when carrying out repetitive tasks.
• Reliable and punctual.
• Good time management and scheduling skills.
• Able to work alone or as part of a team.
• High level of written and oral communication.
• Attention to detail and thoroughness.

Responsibilities

• Undertake routine physical testing of PPE in accordance with International and European standards at our client and at customer facilities.
• Operate test equipment to generate results recorded on paperwork and electronic results sheets for test reports.
• Prepare test samples prior to testing.
• Maintain tidiness of laboratory and sample storage.
• Assist Technologist when dealing with customers during visits.
