Responsibilities

• Delivering engaging lessons across a range of subjects and year groups to cover teachers' PPA time.
• Supporting pupils with SEND, SEMH needs and challenging behaviour.
• Creating a structured, calm and consistent learning environment.
• Using positive behaviour management strategies to encourage engagement and minimise disruption.
• Adapting lessons and learning activities to meet pupils' individual needs and abilities.
• Building trusting relationships with pupils who may have experienced barriers to learning.
• Working collaboratively with school staff to maintain consistency and support pupils' progress.

PPA Teacher - Dunstable - Immediate Start

Tradewind Recruitment is working with a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Dunstable looking for a resilient, adaptable and passionate PPA Teacher to support pupils with additional needs, including those who may display challenging behaviour.

This is a rewarding opportunity for a teacher with experience working in a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) who understands the importance of building positive relationships, setting clear boundaries and creating a safe, supportive learning environment where every pupil has the chance to succeed.

What you'll be doing:

We're looking for someone who:

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Has previous experience working in a PRU or a similar alternative provision setting
• Has experience supporting pupils with SEND, SEMH needs and challenging behaviour
• Is confident managing challenging situations calmly, fairly and consistently
• Can adapt their teaching style to engage pupils with a range of learning needs
• Is patient, resilient and passionate about helping every child reach their potential
• Can build positive relationships while maintaining clear expectations and boundaries
