Job Description:

EY UK (London-based with some flexible working)

The Opportunity

EY is the UK’s leading PPA advisor, focusing on delivering PPA strategy and procurement processes for UK and European corporates and the public sector. The new hire will support our expansion into new services such as green gas procurement and new European markets.

The EY PPA team is part of the EY Energy & Infrastructure (“E&I”) team, a leading renewable energy advisor in UK & Europe, involved in high-profile cross-border transactions and corporate PPAs supporting large renewable projects and portfolios.

Our team of about 30 professionals includes bankers, accountants, engineers, and energy experts. Working with us offers both formal and on-the-job learning from sector specialists, helping you develop as a renewable energy strategy advisor and senior transaction manager, collaborating with the M&A team.

This role offers a unique opportunity to join a market-leading, entrepreneurial team working across renewables and broader energy transition projects, based in London with a flexible work structure, requiring an average of 3 days in the office or at a client site.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Advising on procurement of PPAs (and potentially GPAs), including bid evaluation and contract negotiation
  • Leading research and report writing for renewable energy strategy projects, including client workshops (online and in-person)
  • Preparing PPA/GPA marketing materials and other client deliverables
  • Driving revenue growth, originating PPA transactions, expanding client relationships, and business development activities
  • Analyzing energy consumption and pricing data, developing financial models for PPAs/GPAs, including sensitivity analysis
  • Managing project stakeholders, including project developers and senior clients
  • Building and maintaining client relationships, proposals, pitches, and marketing efforts
  • Engaging in cross-functional projects related to M&A and decarbonization strategies
  • Collaborating across geographically and commercially diverse operations and teams

To qualify for the role you must have

  • Experience and passion for the renewable energy sector
  • Negotiation experience for Power Purchase Agreements
  • Personal drive and motivation to learn and succeed
  • Excellent English communication skills, proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills, including financial modeling for renewable projects
  • Knowledge of power markets, energy transition, and energy services, with a relevant contact network
  • Ability to lead projects, build relationships, work under pressure, and collaborate remotely and in-person
  • Team-oriented with strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Degree-level education

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Business development experience, identifying opportunities and delivering new services
  • Experience with gas hedging, trading, or purchase agreements
  • Active networking, speaking at events, blogging, and originating sales
  • Track record in pitching, commercial opportunity identification, and revenue delivery
  • Potential to support wider strategic objectives, including M&A and project development
  • Advanced professional qualifications (ACA, CFA, MBA)
