Job summary

Alpine Formula One Team in Enstone is offering a one-year Powertrain Design Student Placement starting July 2027. You’ll support CAD modelling, design validation, and technical documentation for powertrain systems, under experienced engineers.

Ideal candidates are penultimate-year students in Mechanical/Automotive/Aerospace/Motorsport Engineering with strong CAD skills and knowledge of FEA. The role is on-site in Enstone with a competitive salary and benefits package.

Qualifications

• Currently studying a degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Aerospace, or Motorsport Engineering and looking for an industry placement as your penultimate year of university
• Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and engineering fundamentals
• Experience with CAD software
• Familiarity with FEA tools and design for manufacturing principles
• Passion for motorsport and a proactive, detail-oriented mindset
• You must have the right to work in the UK, as we cannot provide sponsorship for this role
• Be available to attend onsite for an assessment centre in September

About Us

We are a high-performance Formula One Team driven by innovation, precision, and passion. Our Powertrain group is responsible for the design and development of critical systems including heat rejection, hydraulics, and fuel, as well as the seamless integration of the engine and hybrid systems. As a Powertrain Design Student Placement, you’ll be part of a team that transforms cutting-edge concepts into race-ready solutions that directly impact on-track performance.

The Role

During the placement, you’ll support the design and development of mechanical components across the powertrain systems, including heat rejection, hydraulics, and fuel. Working alongside experienced design engineers, you’ll contribute to CAD modelling, design validation, and technical documentation, helping ensure performance, reliability, and compliance with the Formula One regulations.
