Job summary

Alpine Formula One Team is offering an Electronics Design Student Placement in Enstone. You’ll support electrical systems development for on‑car, wind tunnel, and factory test equipment projects, working with engineers to deliver compliant, high‑performance solutions.

The placement runs for one year starting July 2027. Applicants should be pursuing an Electrical or Electronic Engineering degree, be in their penultimate year, and have hands‑on ECAD/PCB experience. UK work rights are required.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing an Electrical/Electronic Engineering degree and in penultimate year.
• Solid understanding of electronics design principles and circuit theory.
• Experience with ECAD tools (Altium Designer, Mentor Graphics, Zuken) and PCB/wiring harness design.
• Willingness to work onsite in the UK and contribute to race‑critical electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist in design and development of electronic components and systems.
• Support schematic capture, PCB layout, and wiring harness design.
• Help prepare technical drawings and documentation for manufacturing.
• Contribute to design reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with software, mechanical, and vehicle performance teams for system integration.

The Role

During your placement, you’ll support the design and development of electrical systems and components across on car, wind tunnel, pitstop and other factory test equipment projects. You’ll work closely with experienced electronics engineers, contributing to schematic design, PCB layout, harness design, and documentation processes that ensure performance, reliability, and compliance with F1 regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and development of electronic components and systems
• Support schematic capture, PCB layout, and wiring harness design
• Help prepare technical drawings and documentation for manufacturing
• Contribute to design reviews and continuous improvement initiatives
• Collaborate with software, mechanical, and vehicle performance teams to ensure seamless system integration

Who We’re Looking For

• Currently studying a degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering and seeking an industry placement in your penultimate year of university
• Strong understanding of electronics design principles and circuit theory
• Experience with ECAD tools (e.g., Altium Designer, Mentor Graphics, Zuken)
• Familiarity with PCB design, wiring harnesses, and embedded systems
• Passion for motorsport and a proactive, detail‑oriented mindset
• Opportunities to contribute to the development of race‑critical electrical systems
• You must have the right to work in the UK, as we cannot provide sponsorship for this role
• Be available to attend onsite for an assessment centre in September
