Job summary

Alpine Formula One Team invites applications for a Simulation Development Student Placement based in Enstone. You will join a high-performance group supporting design, performance optimisation, and race prep through advanced software tools and virtual testing.

The role focuses on developing and deploying simulation software, working with engineers and analysts to ensure accuracy, efficiency and user-friendliness. You will gain exposure to cutting-edge racing technology.

Qualifications

• Currently studying a degree in Computer Science, Mechanical, Automotive, Aerospace, or Motorsport Engineering.
• Experience with software development tools and version control systems.
• Good understanding of simulation techniques and numerical methods.
• Knowledge of vehicle dynamics is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and maintaining simulation tools and frameworks
• Support the integration of simulation software with engineering workflows
• Help validatesimulation outputs against real-world data
• Contribute to documentation, testing and user support

Our Simulation Development group plays a key role in supporting car design, performance optimisation, and race preparation through advanced software tools and virtual testing environments. As a Simulation DevelopmentStudent Placement,you’llbe part of a team that builds andmaintainsthe simulation infrastructure that underpins engineering decisions across the team.

The Role

During the placement,you’llsupport the development, testing, and deployment of simulation software used across the technical departments.You’llwork closely with simulation engineers, software developers, and performance analysts to ensure tools areaccurate, efficient, and user-friendly.

Key Responsibilities

Assistin developing andmaintainingsimulation tools and frameworks

Support the integration of simulation software with engineering workflows

Helpvalidatesimulation outputs against real-world data

Contribute to documentation,testingand user support

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure simulation tools meet performance and usability requirements

Currently studying a degree in Computer Science, Mechanical, Automotive, Aerospace, or Motorsport Engineering and seeking an industry placement in your penultimate year of university

Good understandingofsimulationtechniques andnumerical methodsis a must have.Knowledge ofvehicledynamics isdesirablebut notessential.

Experiencewith software development tools and version control systems

Passion for motorsport and a proactive, problem-solving mindset

You must have the right to work in the UK, as we cannot provide sponsorship for this role

• Be available to attend onsite for an assessment centre in September
