Job summary

Alpine Formula One Team is seeking a Powertrain Design Student Placement at our Enstone facility. You will work with the powertrain design team on mechanical components, CAD modelling, and design validation to support race performance.

You'll collaborate with experienced engineers, contribute to technical documentation, and help ensure compliance with Formula One regulations. Duration is 1 year starting July 2027, based in Enstone with onsite assessment in September.

Qualifications

Currently studying a degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Aerospace, or Motorsport Engineering and penultimate year.
Strong understanding of mechanical design principles.
Experience with CAD software.
Familiarity with FEA tools and design for manufacturing.
Passion for motorsport and proactive, detail-oriented mindset.
Right to work in the UK; no sponsorship available.
Available to attend onsite assessment centre in September.

Responsibilities

Assist in the design and development of powertrain components using CAD tools.
Help prepare technical drawings and documentation for manufacturing and assembly.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in design processes and component performance.
Collaborate with simulation, performance, and manufacturing teams to ensure design feasibility and integration.
Investigate and resolve issues arising from failures or required improvements for the current car.
