Job summary

AFI group of companies is seeking a MEWP Engineer to maintain and service our fleet, conduct PDIs and LOLER inspections, and respond to on-site breakdowns. You will record checks on a PDA and coordinate with the engineering team to keep machines available for customers.

The role requires an engineering qualification (NVQ level 2 or equivalent), with strong fault-finding skills and the ability to communicate professionally with customers and colleagues.

Qualifications

• NVQ level 2 in plant maintenance or equivalent.
• Competent in electro/hydraulic systems.
• Experience in fault-finding/diagnostics.
• Strong professional communication with customers and colleagues.
• IPAF Operator licence is required; CAP licence desirable.

The salary for this role is negotiable (DOE) plus overtime

About the Role

• Carrying out pre-delivery inspections (PDIs), services, LOLER inspections, repairs, and manufacturer updates, and maintaining the corporate image of our fleet of rental machines.
• Attending breakdowns on customer sites.
• Accurately recording all necessary checks using a company-issued PDA, following company procedure at all times.
• Communicating effectively with the engineering team and hire office to make sure that the depot maintains maximum machine availability.

Requirements

• You must hold an engineering qualification (ideally in plant maintenance) - minimum NVQ level 2 or equivalent.
• Be competent in electro/hydraulic systems.
• You will be experienced in fault-finding/diagnostics.
• You will be working closely with customers and colleagues, so you must be able to communicate professionally.
• You must be able to prioritise tasks in an ever-changing, demanding hire environment.
• A valid IPAF Operator licence/certification is required
• A valid CAP licence would be desirable
