Job summary
Speedy Hire Plc. in Wellington is seeking a hands-on Powered Access Engineer to join our depot team.
You will service, repair and refurbish our powered access fleet, diagnose faults, read electrical/hydraulic drawings and ensure equipment meets safety standards. This permanent role offers a 45-hour week, Monday to Friday, with a focus on safe operations, accurate documentation and teamwork with the depot staff.
Qualifications
- Experience with powered access equipment and fault-finding across electrical and hydraulic systems.
- Proven ability to read electrical and hydraulic drawings and interpret schematics.
- Strong attention to safety and quality standards.
- CAP registration would be an advantage but not essential.
Responsibilities
- Servicing, maintaining and repairing powered access equipment.
- Diagnosing electrical, mechanical and hydraulic faults.
- Completing refurbishment work and preparing equipment to go back on hire.
- Carrying out inspections and identifying required repairs.
- Accurately estimating repair requirements.
- Reading and interpreting electrical and hydraulic drawings.
- Ensuring equipment meets required safety and quality standards.
- Completing relevant service and maintenance documentation.
- Working closely with the depot team to keep equipment available for customers.
