The Team

KPMG's Infrastructure Team in the UK consists of approximately 400 professionals and is recognized as a leading independent financial and business adviser in infrastructure.

We advise on strategic, financial, regulatory, and commercial issues in infrastructure investments across various industries in the UK and internationally. We are known for our innovative approach and influence in the sector.

We are currently a lead advisor on the financial and economic aspects of business rates valuations, focusing on assets valued using the receipts and expenditure method. We seek an ambitious rating surveyor to help expand our business rates services into more industries.

The Role

We seek a motivated individual to join our regulatory finance team as an Associate Director focused on business rates. You will play a key role in developing our business rates practice, working alongside our Tax practice.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading projects and maintaining client relationships with minimal supervision.
  • Ensuring high-quality delivery of client work, managing interactions, budgets, and risk processes.
  • Leading project teams of 2-12 members, fostering collaboration and a positive team environment.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with clients and other advisors, identifying new business opportunities.
  • Contributing to the management and development of the team, including recruitment, performance, mentoring, and thought leadership.

The Person

Qualifications and skills include:

  • Qualified MRICS rating surveyor.
  • Extensive experience in business rates advisory and appeals across diverse UK property portfolios.
  • Experience managing large projects and teams.
  • Ability to explain complex business rates concepts clearly, with strong report writing and presentation skills.
  • Comfortable with external client-facing roles.
  • Independent thinker with problem-solving skills and innovative mindset.
  • Business development experience is highly desirable.
