Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc seeks an experienced Site Supervisor to lead a Power T&D crew in the North East region. You will coordinate safe systems of work, manage plant and equipment requisitions, conduct site inductions and daily briefings, and ensure compliance with safety and quality procedures.

Your role includes supervising training, maintaining logs, managing permits, and driving weekly site inspections while supporting the Project Manager and Site Engineer to achieve programme milestones.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering overhead line, cabling or substation schemes up to 400 kV preferred.
• SSSTS and AWNES qualifications expected.
• Completion of safety and personal development modules is advantageous.
• Strong communication, leadership and stakeholder management are essential.
• Commercial awareness with budgetary and financial control knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Review scope of works with engineers and agree safe systems of work.
• Ensure timely requisition of plant and equipment.
• Induct and brief operatives and subcontractors daily.
• Verify PPE, training completeness and authorisations for site personnel.
• Conduct weekly inspections of plant and equipment and maintain records.
• Manage site safety, permits to work, and safety meetings.
• Maintain and hand over accurate site records and ITPs.
• Oversee time sheets, daily progress, and resource usage.
• Lead, develop and motivate the on-site team to deliver to programme.
