Balfour Beatty plc is seeking an Assistant Engineering Manager to join the Power Transmission & Distribution Team in Glasgow, Aberdeen or Newcastle. The role supports Engineering Delivery Teams across design and construction, ensuring scope clarity and on-time, on-budget delivery of electrical substation, overhead line and cabling projects up to 400kV.

The position offers flexibility with full-time or part-time arrangements and a progressive hybrid policy to support work-life balance.

Qualifications

• Degree or relevant engineering experience.
• Good administration and project controls knowledge.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support Engineering Manager in delivering design and construction for schemes.
• Coordinate with Project Manager, customers and suppliers to ensure timely delivery.
• Develop detailed project plans and monitor performance against timelines and budgets.
• Identify and assign tasks based on staff strengths and provide status reports to stakeholders.
• Engage with design teams to ensure deliverables meet requirements and quality standards.
