Job summary

Arup is seeking a Summer Intern in Electrical Engineering for Power Systems & HV Networks in Manchester. You will work under senior engineers on power system analysis, HV design, and research projects that support a secure and sustainable electricity network.

Under mentorship, you will gain exposure to external client-facing work and internal R&D, strengthening technical and communication skills while contributing to multi-disciplinary teams across UK projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; 2:1 or above preferred.
• IET-accredited course is advantageous.
• Understanding of power systems analysis and electrical design experience.
• Some coding experience is a plus.
• Strong MS Office knowledge.
• Analytical and proactive mindset.

Responsibilities

• Work on power systems analysis and high voltage electrical design.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and support project delivery.
• Contribute to research and development efforts and client-facing work where appropriate.
• Develop communication and management skills under senior mentorship.
