Job summary

Real Staffing in Glasgow is seeking a Project Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial delivery on electrical infrastructure, substations, and high-voltage schemes. You will manage BOQs, budgets, and interim payments to safeguard project profitability.

Working with project teams, subcontractors, and clients, you will monitor costs, prepare monthly reports, and support final accounts from award through to completion. A degree in Quantity Surveying and HV experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or related discipline.
• Experience on electrical infrastructure, HV, substations, or renewables projects.
• Understanding of contract administration, cost control and commercial reporting.
• Experience managing subcontractor accounts, valuations, and final accounts.
• Strong knowledge of contract conditions and practical application.
• Experience preparing payment applications, variations, claims and reports.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage BOQs, budgets, cost reports, forecasts and profit plans.
• Monitor project costs and provide detailed commercial reporting to stakeholders.
• Lead and participate in interim commercial meetings with clients and internal teams.
• Manage subcontractor accounts, valuations, payment certificates and final accounts.
• Prepare monthly applications for payment including remeasurements and variations.
• Identify and manage labour and material cost escalations.
• Identify commercial risks and escalate to senior management.
• Support planning engineers to ensure progress reporting reflects project performance.
