Qualifications

• A third-level qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics or a related discipline.
• Commercial experience within the electrical, power, utilities, construction or engineering sectors.
• Experience managing project costs, valuations, variations and final accounts.
• Strong understanding of construction and engineering contracts.
• Excellent Excel skills and confidence working with financial and commercial data.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Excellent organisation, administration and record-keeping abilities.
• The ability to work independently and manage competing commercial priorities.
• A high level of attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy and timely delivery.

Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial delivery of HV electrical and substation projects.
• Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, cost reports, BOQs and profit plans.
• Monitor project expenditure and overall financial performance.
• Prepare interim valuations, progress applications and final accounts.
• Manage subcontractor accounts, valuations, payments and final accounts.
• Identify variations, change orders, dayworks and additional works.
• Capture and cost site changes, including labour and material costs.
• Collaborate with Planning Engineers to reflect progress commercially.
• Review programmes for commercial impact of delays and changes.
• Identify commercial risks and escalate appropriately.
• Maintain records and documentation for all commercial activities.
• Attend commercial meetings with clients and subcontractors.
• Support negotiation of settlements, variations and claims.
• Ensure contractual obligations are understood and administered.
• Provide regular commercial reporting to project teams.
• Support the wider commercial team with contract administration.
