Commutable from Cambridge and Bedford, this fantastic opportunity has become available for a Power Electronics Design Engineer to join an exciting team focused on the research and development of HVDC and MMC topologies.
This role requires a strong background in power electronics and high-Power converter operation (1MW+), used in applications such as locomotive traction, motor drives and renewable energy.
Other responsibilities of the Power Electronics Engineer will include the design and development of Power Electronics building blocks / inverter stacks, running simulations in Matlab, Simulink and Plecs, perform worst case analysis, writing technical design reports and loss analyses.
The successful Power Electronics Design Engineer will have a relevant degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering with a proven background in the following:
