Job summary

Welsh Government is seeking an Application Operations Engineer (Power BI/Fabric) to maintain and support the Power BI/Microsoft Fabric platform underpinning the Data Visualisation Service across Wales. Working within the Software Delivery Team, you will set up workspaces, triage faults and help optimise outputs.

The role requires strong collaboration with stakeholders, experience with Azure/SQL, and a proactive approach to monitoring, updates, and user support.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining and supporting an Enterprise Power BI /Fabric service, including tenant/capacity administration and gateway admin.
• Experience using Azure and SQL to develop end-to-end analytical data services.
• Experience working with a range of customers to ensure business needs are met.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the Power BI/Microsoft Fabric enterprise platform from the technical side.
• Ensure continuity and availability by collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams.
• Set up new workspaces and assist with queries to optimise report production.
• Review and communicate product updates through change processes.
• Liaise with the Service Desk on faults or requests and resolve where needed.
