Job summary

Essex County Fire and Rescue Service is seeking a talented Business Intelligence Analyst to join our Performance and Analytics team, delivering Power BI dashboards and reports to support operational and strategic priorities.

You will translate stakeholder requirements into trusted data models, develop DAX measures, and promote self-service analytics while ensuring governance and data quality across our reporting estate.

Qualifications

• Strong skills in data analysis, interpretation and problem solving.
• Experience building and maintaining data models and semantic models.
• Ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical audiences.
• Experience working directly with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
• Good understanding of data quality principles and analytical best practice.
• Level 4 qualification or equivalent experience in analytics, business intelligence, data science or a related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain engaging Power BI dashboards and reports.
• Build and maintain semantic models and datasets that provide a trusted source of organisational information.
• Develop DAX measures, KPIs and business calculations that support consistent reporting.
• Work with stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver impactful analytical solutions.
• Support the rationalisation and improvement of existing dashboards and reporting products.
• Drive adoption of self‑service analytics and improve data literacy across the organisation.
