Job summary

HM Prison & Probation Service in the UK is seeking a permanent instructor to supervise a powder coating workshop at HMP Wymott. You will induct and train prisoners in health and safety and machinery use, and assess their skills against national standards.

The role includes hybrid work within the UK and a 37-hour week. The successful candidate will have a Level 3 qualification (or willingness to work towards one) and relevant specialist experience, with checks and eligibility as required for

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification in the specialism, or equivalent experience.
• Willingness to work towards a Level 3 qualification.
• Relevant work experience in a specialist field.

Responsibilities

• Supervise prisoners in the workshop and manage performance and development.
• Induct prisoners in health and safety, COSHH, and machinery use.
• Set work schedules and monitor targets and output against product specifications.
• Contribute to safety, security checks and quality assurance in the workshop.
