Job summary

Yorkshire Water is seeking a Water Quality Scientist – Potable to join the Water Quality team. The role covers the Rivelin WTW area in Sheffield with travel to other Yorkshire sites. Base location depends on home location and the role offers a mix of site/office/home working.

The position is permanent, 37 hours per week, with standby rota requirements. Salary £35,500 - £44,375 plus benefits and development opportunities to help protect public health through robust water quality controls.

Qualifications

• Understanding of water quality processes and regulatory obligations.
• Ability to manage incidents to protect public health.
• Excellent written and oral communication.
• Strong analytical and data handling skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead coordinated incident response and ensure procedures followed.
• Prepare regulator reports and review exception reports.
• Ensure compliance with CRI, ERI, Customer Contacts and Unplanned Outage commitments.
• Act as water quality consultant on a 1 in 5-week basis.
• Join water quality standby rota after training and provide expert support.
