Job description

Postdoctoral Research Associate in Work, Welfare & Mental Health - Strand, London, WC2R 2LS

We are seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate to join our Centre for Society and Mental Health, a collaborative initiative between the Faculty of Social Science and Public Policy (SSPP) and the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience (IoPPN). The centre aims to understand the complex relationships between society and mental health, emphasizing social context and community partnership.

About the Role

You will work with Prof. Ben Geiger and Prof. Karen Glaser on the ‘Work, Welfare Reform and Mental Health’ programme, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams and community partners. Your responsibilities include analyzing quantitative data on mental distress, employment, and welfare, exploring how individuals with mental health issues can remain in work, and investigating workplace inclusion and evolving work patterns.

The role involves 0.2 FTE teaching responsibilities, including module leadership and supervision, and supporting independent research, such as fellowship applications. This full-time, fixed-term position is until 30.04.2028, with potential extension based on funding.
