Postdoctoral Research Associate, Academic Freedom - Strand, London, WC2R 2LS

The School of Education, Communication & Society (ECS) at King’s College London invites applications for a ten-month Postdoctoral Research Fellowship within the Global Observatory on Academic Freedom project (GOAF).

About us

The ECS has been a leader in teacher education and education research for over 130 years, specializing in science and mathematics education; language, culture, and communication; and public policy.

About the role

This full-time, fixed-term position is based at our Waterloo campus. GOAF, launched in 2020, studies contemporary understandings and practices of academic freedom across various jurisdictions and institutions. The goal is to develop conceptual frameworks and practical guidelines to enhance academic freedom globally, engaging with academic communities and stakeholders to reimagine and strengthen effective practices.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting research related to academic freedom within the GOAF project.
  • Engaging with academic communities and stakeholders.
  • Contributing to the development of research outputs and guidelines.

Qualifications

Applicants should have a relevant doctoral degree and experience in education research, with a focus on academic freedom or related areas.
