Job summary

The University of Manchester seeks an experienced postdoctoral research associate to lead an ongoing clinical study exploring the immunological basis of sleep disorders. This role sits in the Quintana Lab within the Lydia Becker Institute of Immunology and Inflammation and Geoffrey Jefferson Centre for Brain Research in Manchester.

You will collaborate with NHS partners and industrial collaborators, developing translational research while maintaining strong basic research in neuroimmunology.

Qualifications

• PhD in immunology or related field is required.
• Extensive experience in B cell biology with first-author publications.
• Industrial/Biosciences/R&D experience is required.
• Up-to-date knowledge in immunoparasitology and in vivo infection models.

Responsibilities

• Conduct original research exploring immunological basis of sleep disorders.
• Identify and develop techniques and apparatus for data collection and analysis.
• Draft and prepare publications for submission to refereed journals.
• Submit publications to refereed journals.
• Lead on and contribute to writing bids for research grants.
