University of Manchester seeks an experienced/senior postdoctoral researcher in neuroscience to study how the immune system shapes hypothalamic circuits involved in sleep-wake regulation from development through adulthood. You will join the Quintana Lab within the Lydia Becker Institute, contributing to an innovative immunology and neuroscience programme.

The role requires leading experiments, performing mouse surgeries, and developing data collection methods.

Qualifications

• Hold a PhD in neuroscience, behavioural sciences, sleep, or related disciplines.
• Demonstrable high-impact outputs as first and/or corresponding author.
• Extensive knowledge in neuroscience, electrophysiology, sleep, behaviour and related techniques.
• Proven ability to lead projects and teams with demonstrated outputs.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsabilités

• Conduct original research on immunology and hypothalamic maturation.
• Perform surgeries and behavioural studies in mice.
• Identify and develop techniques/equipment for data collection and analysis.
• Draft publications and prepare manuscripts for journals.
