The University of Manchester invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to lead mass spectrometry-based proteomics within a Wellcome Discovery Award on microbial interactions. Work with colleagues from Dundee, Newcastle, Edinburgh and Chicago, using DIA proteomics to characterise T6SS-secreted proteins and define their modes of action.

Based in the Laboratory for Biomedical Mass Spectrometry under Prof Matthias Trost, you will have hands-on access to timsTOF HT and timsTOF Ultra

Competenze

• Hands-on experience running and maintaining mass spectrometry systems.
• Experience in data analysis with R and related bioinformatics.
• PhD (or near completion) in proteomics, microbiology or related field.

Mansioni

• Design and run DIA proteomics experiments on complex microbial samples.
• Run and maintain MS and LC systems.
• Apply data analysis pipelines in R and other bioinformatic analyses.
• Plan experiments with PI and award team; publish findings as lead or co‑author.
