The John Innes Centre invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Wilkinson Group, collaborating with the Hutchings lab, to study global activation of silent biosynthetic pathways in Streptomyces species. The project aims to link new metabolites to their gene clusters and unravel their biosynthesis and bioactivity.

The successful candidate should hold a PhD in Natural Products Chemistry, with a track record in isolation, structure elucidation, and metabolomics.

Formación

• PhD in Natural Products Chemistry with expertise in isolation and structure elucidation.
• Experience in metabolomics and related data analysis is desirable.
• Strong scientific writing and ability to publish findings.

Responsabilidades

• Isolate and structurally characterise newly produced metabolites from engineered Streptomyces strains.
• Delineate biosynthesis of molecules and assess bioactivity in biochemical assays.
