Royal Mail in Redditch is seeking a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) to deliver letters and parcels across Redditch, 30 hours per week, on a rotating shift including weekends. Role requires full UK manual driving licence and ability to pass a driving assessment.

Fixed-term for 12 months with comprehensive training and uniform provided. You will work outdoors in all weather, build customer relationships, and be paid £13.68 per hour plus paid overtime.

Job type: Fixed Term contract 12 months

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.

Working hours: 30 hours per week – working 5 days in 7 across Monday - Sunday between the hours of 08:00am/16:00pm*

You’ll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.

You’ll be required to work Sundays at Redditch Delivery Office.

What to expect

This role is physically demanding and fast-paced:

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)
• Driving a Royal Mail van daily
• Working in all weather conditions
• Delivering letters and high volumes of parcels
• Busy, time-pressured days, especially during peak periods

About you

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
