Job summary

Royal Mail Group in Hayling Island is recruiting a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) to deliver letters and parcels. You’ll work in a rotating shift schedule, 37 hours per week, 5 days in 7 across Mon-Sun, including some weekends. Full training provided.

You will need a full manual UK driving licence, be physically fit, and comfortable working outdoors. You’ll build customer relationships and enjoy a rewarding role in the community.

• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and pass a driving assessment.

Job type: Fixed Term contract 6 months

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available. Working hours: 37.00 hours per week - 5days in 7 across Monday - Sunday - working early or late shifts between 07:00/20:00*

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)
• Driving a Royal Mail van daily

About you

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
