Job summary

Royal Mail in Haywards Heath is seeking a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) to join on a fixed term contract for 6 months. You’ll work 37 hours a week across five days from Monday to Sunday on rotating shifts, delivering letters and parcels by van and on foot in the local area.

A full manual UK driving licence is required, you must be physically fit to walk long distances, work outdoors in all weather, and handle up to 10kg+ mailbags.

Qualifications

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address).
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and pass a driving assessment.
• Physically fit and able to walk long distances, climb stairs/hills, and lift/carry 10kg+ mailbags.

Location: Haywards Heath Delivery Office, RH16 1AA

Job type: Fixed Term contract 6 months

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.

Working hours: 37.00 hours per week – working 5 days in 7 across Monday - Sunday – 07.30/16:00*

You’ll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.

You’ll be required to work 1 in 5 Sundays at Burgess Hill Delivery Office, 09:00-17:00.
