Job summary

Royal Mail Teignmouth Delivery Office is seeking a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) on a fixed-term basis. The role involves delivering letters and parcels, walking long distances, and driving a Royal Mail van in all weather conditions.

Training is provided. You must hold a full manual UK driving licence, be willing to drive daily, and pass a driving assessment. This 12-month contract offers overtime and a mix of early start times.

Job type: Fixed Term contract (12 months)

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.Working hours: 30hours per week - working (5)days in 7 across Monday - Sunday - 10:00am/16:00pm*

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)

About you

We'll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You'll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
